1. I can't speak for others...

But the Batman franchise, via Adam West and co., caught me early in life. I can't say I like most of the more recent interpretations of the characters, but the Bat People remain dear to me. Perhaps I'm just silly. :)

You could probably do dome sort of psychoanalytic reading of the symbolism of masks and alla that. I think what I like best is the bright colors and contrast of curved and pointy in the costumes.

Why does anyone like anything, really? Hmm.
