6. a girl is out partying/studying late one night |
|
and when she comes back to the room, she leaves the lights off so as not to wake up her roommate. When she wakes up the next day, she finds a message written in her roommates blood on the wall/mirror that says "aren't you glad you didn't turn on the lights."

8. College girl going out on a date |
|
She realizes she forgot something, and she goes back to the dorm but doesn't turn on the light so she doesn't disturb her sleeping roomie. The next morning, the roomie is found dead, having been killed, and there's that message on the mirror.

9. It's an old dorm story |
|
A girl is studying in the common room late one night, she has to go upstairs to get a book and notices the door to her room is unlocked. Since it's late, she figures her roommate came home and fell asleep without locking the door. She doesn't want to wake roommie so she kind of feels her way to her desk, in the dark, grabs the books she needs and heads back to the common room, where she falls asleep over her books. When she comes upstairs in the morning, there's crime tape over her door, the police are swarming and a bunch of girls crying. She breaks through the throng and finds a grisly scene: Her roommate's bed is a bloody mess from where her throad had been slashed. On the wall above, written in her roommate's blood, are the words, "Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the light?"
Scared the crap out of me as a college freshman!

14. I guess she would have been killed, too |
|
But I think the moral of the story is "Always lock your doors"
I was an RA (Resident Adviser) in college my Junior year, I lived in the dorms my Freshman and Sophomore years, and it's my experience that often people who are away from home for the first time are much more trusting and open with their personal space than they should be. I guess that's why my Freshman RA decided to scare us all half to death with this story.

Because what the legend doesn't tell you is that after seeing her friend dead, all her other friends jumped out of the closet to wish her a happy birthday.

22. You're joking, right? |
|
If not:
The killer was still in the room when she came back for her books. Had she turned on the light, she would have seen him (and he would have had to kill her, too).
...so the killer left her the message on the wall.

one version of the first one is a kid the last one awake and his parents tell him to make sure everything is locked up, which he does, but forgets a basement window. that night he hears dripping noises and figures someone left the water on, but he puts his hand under the bed to pet his dog because the kid is scared. he feels his hand being licked and is comforted. when he wakes up, he finds his dog hanging in the shower dripping blood.
the hook one has to do with a serial killer/psycho loose while two kids are making out in a car. when they hear about the killer on the radio, they freak out and leave. when they get to a gas station, there is a hook on their car handle.
the medical student one is a bunch of students play a plank on a fellow medical student by putting a dead foot/hand in the kid's bed. when they return, they find the student staring blankly and eating the body part.

18. The tourist's toothbrushes (WARNING) |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-12-05 12:04 PM by underpants
Story goes that a couple were on vacation in Mexico and they go out for the day. When they come back someone has busted the patio glass door. They look and look but nothing is missing. The cops say they don't know what or why someone broke in. When the couple gets home the get their film developed and on one of the rolls is a picture of both of their toothbrushes up someone's butt.
I love that story.

20. Variation of the "drip, drip" story: |
|
There had been a series of murders in a neighborhood. A girl, having just moved to the area and having heard about the murders, buys a dog for "protection". She's awoken in the middle of the night by a noise and, too afraid to move, puts her hand beside the bed where the dog sleeps. When the dog licks her hand, she feels better and goes back to sleep.
She awakes in the morning to find the dog dead and hanging in the shower. Written in blood on the bathroom mirror is the message "Humans lick, too".
ewwwwwwwww!

The one that is supposed to teach you to watch out when getting into your car in parking lots because someone will lay down underneath it and slit your ankles as you try to climb in.
Also, the one where a person (usually a woman) is being followed by another driver (usually a man). He maintains his speed behind her no matter how fast she goes to get away, and keeps flashing her with his high beams. Eventually when she stops and runs out of the car he is able to tell her that the reason he was following her was to try to stop the guy who had snuck into the backseat of her car and was waiting to put an end to her as she drove home. He was flashing his high beams everytime the guy crouched in the back seat would stand up.
Those are a couple off the top of my head. I find that stuff very interesting.
