Try and read this without laughing...
Friedman is expert on the Middle East
After reading the criticism aimed at columnist Thomas L. Friedman, I had to go back and read him again ("Comic opinion," Sept. 24.) I failed to find any justification for such biased comments.
In fact, Friedman was right on the money as always.
I have been reading almost everything available on the Middle East for years. As early as the Gulf War of more than 10 years ago, I realized the situation there was going to be a big problem for us, and that Islamic fundamentalists were at the heart of it.
Of all the very knowledgeable writers on the subject of the Middle East, I find Friedman at the very apex of this distinguished group.

I thought you'd gotten into that pile of third grade essays my dad used to bring home when he taught. But then I realized the "sophistication" of the words "apex" and "fundamentalists" made it obviously at least from 6th grade. :eyes:
I'm sure that guy made a point somewhere. What exactly it was, I'll have to think about for AWHILE...
