For my friend who is gone
Edited on Wed Oct-01-03 03:29 PM by Cheswick
Today is a very sad day for me. Don't ask why, I don't really know. Last might I was listening to the cast album of NINE which is special to me. This song reminded me of a friend I miss very much.

In a very unusual way
One time I needed you
In a very unusual way
You were my friend
Maybe it lasted a day
Maybe it lasted an hour
But somehow it will never end

In a very unusual way
I think I'm in love with you
In a very unusual way
I want to cry
Something inside me goes weak
Something inside me surrenders
And you're the reason why,
you're the reason why
You don't know what you do to me
You don't have a clue
You can't tell what it's like to be me looking at you
It scares me so that I can hardly speak

In a very unusual way
I owe what I am to you
Thought at times it appears I won't stay
I never go
Special to me in my life
Since the first day that I met you
How could I ever forget you
Once you had touched my soul?

In a very unusual way
You made me whole

1. Now I'm teary-eyed, too
Thanks for sharing those poignant lyrics. I'm not familiar with Nine, but that hits home for me, too.

Don't you hate those "I have a chasm in my heart" days when we so sorely miss someone we've lost?

You never really get over losing a soul-mate, but I truly hope tomorrow's better, Cheswick.

Peace.

3. Thank you for responding
I don't have these days often, but they are hard aren't they?
I am older now (46) than my friend was when he died. That also makes me sad because he had so much to share with the world. He touched so many peoples lives and I really miss those days.

sometimes those feelings of missing or mourning someone just creep up and catch you when you least expect it.

8. Yup, because you can't do a damn thing about it
except maybe figure out how to honor the times you spent together and who they were to you.

9. Thanks for sharing this.
This is perfect for my soulmate, she is not gone but we are apart and will be for a while yet, I can't wait to email it to her. This got my eyes welling up also.

My condolences to you on your loss.
