Forget that he's running for office. He's a PARENT!
I assume that many of you know to whom I am referring. If not, this tells all:

I am so thoroughly disgusted.

He's a PARENT!

1. Here is his apology
To my friends from Democratic Underground.com

I apologize sincerely for my prank. After noticing the storm my prank had created, it dawned on me that I was tinkering with the wrong poll.

Upon realizing the damage and headache I had caused, I immediately IMmed Skinner a confession. He told me to post a confession in GD. I was already working on it, and I agreed.

Perhaps revealing how it was done was wrong, but I believe doing so will ensure it can't be done again. I have emailed technical ideas on how to stop such a trick. I have also included other tricks and attacks that could theoretically be carried out, and I will not spell those out here.

I have, in fact, submitted bug reports in the past. I have even had IM dialog with Skinner, lighthearted, in the last day or two.

I was sick over the weekend and was feeling pretty good today, and got a little too playful. I played where seriousness was called for.

I have sent a follow up to the confession to Skinner and the admins, citing the specific parts of the DU rules I violated with my prank. One related to "not spamming the message board", and the other to "treating the moderators with respect".

I do support DU in their endeavours, and take full responsibility for my actions.

I have promised that I will NOT sign up under another name. As you can see, I am not much for online anonymity. You know who I am, and I have taken full responsibilty and have offered to help in any way to make up for my affront. I do not have money to spare, but I would be willing to do whatever asked, including the public posting of my confession as Skinner has done. I only regret that I could not reply within that thread. I was replying, in fact, when I was tombstoned.

Please do not hold what I have done against any organization I volunteer for.

For those of you who wish to contact me, my email is admin@7-10.com.

2. Yeah, I read it. The thing is, as angry as I am, I'm sorry he's
gone, in a wierd way. I guess that's what makes me a Democrat.

Or maybe I'm sorry that he felt the need to do this.

This is why I didn't offer to be a moderator . . .

I hate to think about what is being said at--nevermind.

9. I'm not sorry. He only apologized because he got caught
He had every intention of rigging that vote. He's done it in the past undetected and didn't expect to get caught. And another thing - on that confession thread of his - notice all those deleted posts. Now, what kind of obnoxious shit did he spam as fast as he could when he knew Skinner was going to tombstone his sorry ass after he posted his confession that all had to be deleted?

He is a major league asshole. One sick mother fucker. No sympathy from me. I didn't see any real remorse in that apology - just owning up to the inevitable because he shot himself in his own foot.

Oh, and I wouldn't take him up on that email offer either. I wouldn't want a proven malicious code prankster to have my email address. And, do you really want to open anything he sends you in return?

15. All those deleted posts were from other people
I saw them all, and one was mine. I am not sure why they were deleted but that's okay,

Come on about the remorse now, you can not possible tell from reading something online if the person is remorseful or not.

He pulled a stupid prank and it was hurtful, but that's all.

3. And...
Lots of assholes are parents. Why does this fact seem to anger you more? What he did was stupid and childish, but what does the fact that he's a parent have to do with anything? Should we alert the authorities so his fitness as a parent can be examined?

4. Ahhh, wow, I don't know. Lord knows I've done things that I'm
not proud of, but I don't think I could really point to something that is dishonest.

I wouldn't guarantee that I haven't though.

5. So what?
So was Richard Nixon. So was Josef Stalin. So have many less than respectable individuals been. Reproduction is, if you will, the genetic imperative. Fulfilling it doesn't put you in a special category or make you significantly different in any meaningful way from those who haven't.

6. What he did wasn't so bad

This is just a message board. No matter what we do here, any of us can just walk away and continue our lives.

I personally find it funny, and now that he's admitted and apologized, then there's no harm done.

This is just a message board, people, if anything truly upsets you on this board, then you need to step away and think about it. It's not that important.

8. Maybe no harm to you personally. You can laugh and walk away
The administrators of this board can not, and had a hell of a day due to this fools game. I see harm - I see legal harm and monetary damages.

7. His apology means nothing to me because
the act was committed while in full control of his facilities. He was not drunk or high, or possibly insane, at the time of the deed. It was malicious with aforethought. I pity the children raised by this person, but am no more angry because he has children than I would be if he didn't.

what did this person do - what is this apology about?

14. I think calling his parenting into question is inexcusable!
He shouldn't have done what he did and probably didn't take into consideration the headache his actions caused! But I'm offended that you would question his parenting over something like this, i think it's a low blow.
