"How long does it take to get hooked on the new CSI?" |
|
"About a New York Minute."
---
They're really stretching on that one.
Trust me, I get hooked on one hour crime dramas"
All the L&O's, CSI: Las Vegas & Miami (usually), Without a Trace, Cold Case, the first year of The Practice, the Lyon's Den and the Wire are favorites that I don't like to have missed.
But CSI:NY? I don't have those same feelings.

1. It would be nice if they could afford some lighting for the show |
|
I tried to watch it a few times but I swear it looked like they were broadcasting in black and white. I've been to NYC many, many times and it always seemed to be in technicolor to me. And well, worse than that, the show was just really not very interesting.
I love crime dramas too but this is one I can't get into.

4. I missed it, but it reminds me of 'Crossing Jordan' |

which is kind of campy and overly sentimental for a crime drama in some ways
Maybe it'll be like 'Third Watch' for me, which I never got into, either.

7. And "The Shield" isn't on that list? Anyway... |
|
the CSI's drive me crazy because I can't imagine anyone from the crime lab ordering detectives around. And I can't imagine any crime lab having that equipment budget. Or getting DNA results in ten minutes.
Be that as it may, although I prefer real mysteries I'll take police procedurals when mysteries are few and far between. And I can suspend disbelief when the night shift crime lab supervisor uses the rest of the department as his gofers. If the story's a good one.
What I can't get over is David Caruso and his imperial arrogance. He makes the show unwatchable.
What I really like is Vanessa Ferlito on CSI NY. She got some serious attitude. ("Hey! Don't check out my ass when there's a dead guy here. Have some respect.")
