Maybe someone in advertising can answer this. |
|
If Radical Right radio is so widely listened to, why isn't there any advertising of major products? All I hear when I'm monitoring the enemy are ads for re-financing. What gives?

Old, poor and/or rednecks. Not your coveted market segments.

3. Air America, at this point, is only heard in a handful of small markets. |

Radical Right Hate Radio claims to be listened to heavily. "Riddle me that?" is a line used by a couple of the cretins on right-wing radio? You aren't one of them, are you?

6. I know where the phrase comes from, DORK. |
|
I also know that a couple of right-wing radio cretins use the phrase frequently. Touchy, touchy!

Most of them are buying what is basically "remaindered" time... "we'll buy every spot you can't sell at full price for about 10% of the price."
Plus I think some major advertisers are still wary about appearing to support one political side or the other...

7. Radio isn't a popular medium for big brands |
|
Media budgets for radio campaigns are usually pretty small, because it's generally seen as filler. Major advertisers rely on print, outdoor and TV (and to a growing extent, online) as media vehicles, and production and airing costs are high.
There are probably other, more specific reasons a media person could give.
