Who the hell acts like these people in real life? It seems like MTV deliberately seeks the most self-absorbed, naive, belligerent twenty-somethings in America and sticks them in a house together.

As somebody approximately their age, I am mystified when I see the rampant bickering and bawling and conniving on these shows. I might occasionally encounter an individual like this, but in my experience the overwhelming majority of us are quite laid back, even in tightly-knit groups.
