November 3rd. Went to bed just before midnight, with a wondfully peaceful smile upon my face. All the polls on CNN/MSNBC and online had Kerry as a shoe-in.
Then, I arose. It was a "lovely day finally in the neighborhood" kind of feeling. Brushing my teeth, as I peered into the mirror I could see and smell Democracy and a fresh-new start for my beloved country. As I fleeted around with such merriment, I clicked on the tube.
That's when the nightmare began and for me it's been the worse experience of my life that I wish had never happened!

6. Being in the 9-11 attacks. |
|
While it has had, in many ways, some good effects on who I am as a person and taught me an awful lot of things, it's an experience I'd glady trade away all benefits of in favor of not ever having had that experience.

I know that from here (Chicago), I was just speechless. I didn't say a word the whole day after I saw the second plane hit.

8. Found out my (ex) wife had an affair with one of my best friends |
|
That was a real kick in the gut, let me tell ya. I didn't find out the truth until after we were divorced, but the affair happened while we were married.

14. I saw him last summer at a mutual friend's house...... |
|
....He doesn't know that I found about the affair. I've know him since I was 9 and he was 8. I tried to put it behind me, since it happened in 1985, but it's still hard to deal with the betrayal.

I tried to cross a raging torrent of a river while hiking alone once. Luckily I washed up on the opposite shore. Dumb, dumb, dumb...lucky me.

17. Everything I've experienced made me who I am. |

Which is a pretty good thing overall. :D
I think sometimes I could have done without the vast amount of lessons brought forth by my ending marriage (and some childhood stuff and other stuff), but I'm a strong person and remain strong nonetheless.

At gunpoint-in Washington DC. At the Wendy's on Florida Ave NE. Washington DC was a wild place in the mid ninety's. Stole the car and the dinner which I put in the car.

27. So, wait - let me get this straight - they not only stole your car, |
|
BUT THEY STOLE YOUR WENDY'S DINNER?!?!
Those BASTARDS!
Sorry - don't mean to make light of your experience. I've never been held up, but I had a couple dreams about it, and even in the dreams it was a godawful feeling. I can't possibly imagine what it is like in real life. I'd probably shit my pants. And unlike a freeper, who would say "Ah, if some creep held me up, I'd just do a sweeping drop kick into his throat, like a fuckin' Navy Seal and shit, and clock him a good one and BAM! out he goes and shit. Then I steal everything he has, and leave him naked on the ground", I'm quite happy to be honest and say I'd probably shit my pants.

29. 9 things off the dollar menu |
|
Got the whole order which was on the floor in the back seat. 4 Jr bacon cheeseburgers, 2 chocolate frosties, 1 chili and 2 fries, it came to $9.00and with the 10%meals tax in DC it wiped out all the money we had which was $10.00 between the two of us.
I was a young smart-ass and somewhat street smart kid but I have a rule in life, never start a gun fight if you don't have a gun. Giving up the car was easy at that point. The car was never recovered and additionally there was no fire and theft on it. It turned out to be one really expensive dinner
