Fellow public sector employees or anyone else in the know:

Would I be able to put this on my car?

http://unionshop.aflcio.org/shop/product1.cfm?SID=1&Product_ID=400

I see nothing wrong with it, but I want to be certain before I purchase. It's the best pro-union sticker I've seen. Not to mention I live in RTW state.

edit: Since I am considered a "professional" employee, I'm not eligible to join AFSCME, FWIW. But I support unions 100%.

1. I see no problem with that.
I live in another RTW state (TX) and used to have a "Texas State Employees Union" sticker on my car.

Go for it!

Sheesh. I re-read your post. Forehead has been duly slapped.

Still plugging away for the taxpayers! :D

Edit - TSEU is affiliated with the Communication Workers of America. I'd rather we affiliate with the AFSCME, but that's outta my hands.

4. If it's YOUR car
I don't see why you can't!

Believe me, the AFSCME guys appreciate support from the non-eligible types.

5. Why not?
Are there rules of some kind covering the kind of bumper stickers a public sector employee is allowed to have on the car?

A friend of mine who teaches at a local Catholic elementary school (she's not RC herself) has compromised on her pro-choice, pro-gay bumper stickers by covering them up when her car is at the school. Apparently early on a parent complained, and she was asked very nicely if she could please remove or cover them up.

6. It's YOUR car, right?
The only beef I could see your Muni having is if you're driving a "company" car.

People work here who actually wear red and white (OK, "Cream and Crimson") and nothing's said...
