Does anyone remember classic Ren and Stimpy? |
|
There were only about 12 episodes to the Nickelodeon series, but what existed reached heights of gleeful dementia that no other series could duplicate.
Two such masterpieces were "Space Madness", wherein Ren loses his mind in outer space, and "Stimpy's Invention", wherein Stimpy uses the Happy Helmet on his miserable companion--the Happy Happy Joy Joy scene almost made me piss myself with laughter.
Does anyone else remember this nutty show?

Sure! I loved "Space Madness." If you like that, try Ralph Bakshi's "Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures." It's truly weird, twisted stuff! And, it was directed by.... John Kricfalusi, the creator of Ren & Stimpy!

I use it to torment my husband sometimes.
That was the funniest show. We would stay home just to see it every week. Some of the best adult humor ever made.

And our saddle sores are the best, We proudly wear women's clothing As searing sand blows up our skirts.
And the buzzards, they soar overhead And poisonous snakes will devour us whole, Our bones will bleach in the sun.
And we will probably go to HELL, And that is our great reward, For being the uh-royiyh-alll CANADIAN KILTED YAKSMEN!!!!

LOL! Absolute, stone classic episode... BTW, there were more than just 9 or 10 episodes as I believe the original poster stated, although I don't know exactly how many. NO they are NOT on DVD, although I think there is some trimmed down "Best of" DVD floating around.

The cable channel now calling itself 'Spike' (used to be Nashville Network), is showing old episodes of R&S. We saw 'Fire Dogs' and the nipple salesmen episodes last month. They were part of a show Ralph Bakshi and John Kricfalusi are doing for Spike, but it's on their web page (spiketv.com) if you click on the pulldown and go to 'animation.'
I used to have the 'We're not hitchhiking anymore ... we're riding!" segment on my answering machine. Until I had to look for a job, and had potential employers calling my house, of course.

"OOOOhhh, Lord loves a hangin', that's why he give us necks It tightens up our vocal chords, and loosens up our pecs. So if you are a horse thief and guilty to the bone, Go ahead and blame a friend and you won't hang alone!
It may be hard to swaller, but you'll be three feet taller, And find new ways to entertain your friends. You say you are a villian, but can't abide by killin', Go ahead and steal yourself a horse.
Two three eleven or five seven . I'm a pickin' and I'm a swingin'! I'm ignorant, and I'm ugly! That you are, boys.
OOOOhhh, The Lord loves a hangin', and so do we by heck! So go and get a lasso and decorate your neck! Oh we is awful ignorant and uglier than sin, so go ahead and cut us down... And hang us all again!
Hangin', that is. Swing a spell.
