High School Senior Put A Sheep's Brain In School Salad Dressing - Charged
<snip>

VESTAL -- A Vestal High School senior could face probation, a fine or even jail time after being accused Tuesday of putting a sheep's brain into salad dressing in the school's cafeteria.

Michael S. Walker, 17, of Deerfield Place, Vestal, was charged with petit larceny and second-degree tampering with a consumer product, both misdemeanors. He was accused of stealing a 3- to 4-inch-long portion of a sheep's brain from the school's chemistry laboratory and placing it into a bowl of salad dressing Jan. 12.

He is to appear Feb. 1 in Vestal Town Court.

Classmates on Monday described Walker as a good student who was voted "class clown." But they disagreed over the impact the incident might have.

"I think he meant the entire incident as a joke," said senior Eric Sansky, who is in a Theory of Knowledge class with Walker. Sansky said Walker is known for enlivening class discussions with comments and jokes. "I know he didn't mean anything malicious by it. I hope that people see that he's not a bad kid."

But the incident could have had serious consequences to students, senior Laura Stutzman said, and could possibly hurt Walker's chances for college scholarships.

"He could have hurt a lot of people because of the formaldehyde," said Stutzman, who said she knows Walker, but not well. "It's a shame that with half a year left to go, he's ruined some choices for the future."

1. sheep brains are GOOD
a delicacy in the middle east. Tastes like chikkin . . .

Actually, scrambled with eggs and spices, it's a lot like migas.

4. so next you're gonna tell me that everything you serve
for dinner always comes out perfect! :evilgrin:

of course I understand it was a stupid prank. gee whillikers!

the issue is that we're adults and we recognize that it was stupid and dangerous. Kids don't always understand that things are dangerous, until they learn, sometimes the hard way. That's what adults are for.
