OK, I couldn't resist. Name your favorite pinball machine of all time. I can only list a few choices, so if yours isn't listed, name your own and discuss!

I even remember it, in 1992, as being a prize on "The Price is Right". Had it been 1984, it would have made more sense... but it was cool all the same!

There is nothing like having a full-size pinball in your living room to dominate conversation and floor space. My friends loved it.

I was too young to get the sexual innuendo present in the Xenon machine though!

8. I could be wrong about this... |

But I believe Bally's Eight Ball Deluxe was the most popular pinball machine of all time. Back when pinball machines were still made in the United States, Eight Ball Deluxe stayed on the sales charts for over half a decade. I used to work in an arcade when I was younger, and talked with my manager frequently about the fate of videogames. She accurately predicted the decline of the Video Arcade in America, as the home video game systems rose in popularity. She also lamented the end of pinball machines. Williams closed their last factory in 1999, Bally a year before that (I'm not sure about this date, and I would be happy if I was proved wrong) and now only Stern makes pinball machines anymore. :(

My favorite company was Williams, and I definitely liked pinball machines well before their final gasp: when they all had to be tied into some movie and you could make a million points just by launching the ball. It became less impressive when you could score 100 million without even trying.
In my younger days (when I was an arcade junkie) I remember:
Pinbot Millionaire Taxi High Speed Black Knight 2000 Comet (& it's sequel, Cyclone) But just give me a pinball machine and some quarters, and I'd play it. Didn't matter. Any pinball machine would do.
I miss pinball.
