Laura Bush, The Lump in the Bed - Her new official title
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/wn_report/story/123509p-110910c.html

Dear Laura," the poem began, "Roses are red, violets are blue, oh my lump in the bed, I miss you.

"The distance, my dear, has been such a barrier, next time you want an adventure, just land on a carrier."

You can't make this shit up. Someone, anyone who has infiltrated freeperland, please post this article.

3. If my husband called me a "lump in the bed",
he would soon have a few lumps of his own and would NOT be in my bed. LOL.

5. Laura obviously doesn't mind..
being called a lump in the bed, since she read the poem out to the public.
What a very romantic couple those two make.

6. I think they are both hostile to each other
him calling her that in "fun" and her making it public.

7. She has no self esteem!
And he has no class.

This is a horrid way for married people to treat each other, even in jest!

8. Bloody bastard!
This bit really managed to piss me off to no end:

"The distance, my dear, has been such a barrier

Bloody bastard has no idea of what distance or barriers even are. Here Sapphocrat and I are FORCED to live 8,000 miles (12,000kms) away from one another, because of the immigration barriers in the United States.

Usually Sappho and I will go ten months without seeing each other, yet his wife goes away for a short trip, and it is a barrier to him?

Fucking weasle bastard! Unbloodybelievable!

I'm sorry guys, but this time the separation Sappho and I are forced to live with on a daily basis is a lot harder than usual. I am really at my beaking point, and it hasn't even been a full week yet.

9. And Dubya blames her for dropping the dog
Edited on Sat Oct-04-03 09:21 AM by Maeve
This article is missing that couplet--I'll go find it and edit it in.

Here it is:http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/10/03/bush.poem.ap/index.html
"Roses are red/Violets are blue/Oh my, lump in the bed/How I've missed you."

"Roses are redder/Bluer am I/Seeing you kissed by that charming French guy."

And then the finale:

"The dogs and the cat, they missed you too/Barney's still mad you dropped him, he ate your shoe/The distance, my dear, has been such a barrier/Next time you want an adventure, just land on a carrier."
