Name a song that got you so pumped everytime you heard it......
but when you found out what it was about, kinda took the steam out of it.

Mine would be "under the bridge" by RHCP. I remember seeing an interview with A.K. and he explained how the song was about his drug problems and how it was a low point in his life. Made me look at the song differently.

1. Congratulations on getting your sorry ass out of the 700 club
I'm not answering this question. It's too hard to think this early in the morning. If you bring me a cup of coffee though, I might be able to come up with something! :hi:

The answer to this question is easy. Any song on the Clash's "London Calling" album gets me pumped up.

I didn't read the entire question. And yes, I was on my first cup of coffee in the morning. My bad. There's a lesson to be learned here.

There's nothing like listening to From Here to Eternity when I'm working out, but I don't think that's what Murph is looking for. :hi:

Edited on Tue Feb-01-05 09:46 AM by WildClarySage
but I used to get a big kick out of that Nelly song because I thought they were rapping about Bush being like a little kid playing at being a grown-up. "Big boy stomp'in' in my Air Force Ones!"

Then I found out it was about tennis shoes.

19. I've got one. It's called "Deny" by the Clash. The music is pure
punk. But the song is about a girlfriend of Joe's with an addiction to heroin:

"Then you said you'd given it up
Gone an' kicked it in the head
You said you ain't had none for weeks
Baby I seen your arms
Baby I seen your arms

Do you think I'm a raving idiot?
Just got off the boat
Step in line, sign this form
Baby ain't got a hope
You ain't got a hope"

30. No Retreat, No Surrender
Man, I loved that song when Born in the USA first came out. I pretty much wore that tape out. I was twelve years old, and that song gave me goosebumps. Truth be told, it still does. I thought it was such a perfect choice for the Kerry campaign. Two weeks before the election, I started cranking it up and driving around with all the windows and the sunroof open, sure that we would win.

I can't bear to hear the song now.
