I got away from Georgia! Yaaayyyyy!
Ohio DUers, is there any kind of get-togethers or meetups that are scheduled? I'm in the Akron-Canton area.

1. I'm in the Cleveland area
Welcome to Ohio :hi:
I haven't heard of a get-together yet. You are about an hour from me.

2. Cool
I like Cleveland. Very blue-collar, pro-labor area. Great Lakes Brewing Company too!

5. Moved in with the Prophetess
Got fed up with the long-distance relationship thing, and being employed. So I resigned my job and moved here.

7. Get a snowshovel and a parka
You might be able to store them between June and September. If you're lucky.

8. Yeah, there's a good 6 inches of snow right now
But nothing beats the Georgia ice storm of last weekend! I had a full inch of ice coating everything on the truck Saturday morning. The roads were like that too, and people still tried to drive 70 mph and swerve around traffic. Idiots.

9. Not that long ago, Cleveland/Akron/Canton had their fair share of
ice. An inch would have been a blessing.

I'm talking only a matter of weeks.

Let's see. Above-freezing temperatures while rain poured onto the area in huge amounts. During the night, the temperature dropped into the teens, and the rain turned into snow, piling onto the ice that had formed.

Yeah, an inch would have been lovely.

After all that, I still am glad I'm not in Buffalo . . .

12. Yes, around Christmastime my fiance got out just before it hit
Thye had her plane sitting on the runway for 4 hours in Cleveland. It was ugly-18 inches of snow.
However, I'll still take snow over rural Georgia rednecks. They breed in the heat.

I'm going to be looking for post-docs, so it might be worth checking.

30. I consider it a decent size.
But I might be a little biased due to the fact that my HS graduating class was all of 76 students. BGSU has roughly 20,000 students to it on a fairly nice campus.

Check it out for yourself.

It's nice to hear about someone moving to Ohio for a change. Welcome!

And if a Northeast Ohio gathering happens, I'll absolutely be there, but I haven't heard about anything.
