1. Your recipe is amazingly similar to mine
the only real difference is that CHOLULA is the only hot sauce I use.

9. I am a fan of the Tapatio...
And Absolut Peppar if there is no hot sauce... I like the fact that I am more likely to be out of hot sauce than vodka...

7. Good choice on the hot sauce.
I also add a splash of steak sauce and use fresh horseradish.

6. I used to be a bartender...
and worked many breakfast shifts. I cannot imagine how many Bloody Marys I have mixed. I had a lot of regular customers, and everyone liked their Bloody Marys a little different. Basically:

-- a couple of shots of Vodka
-- Tomato juice
-- a few dashes of worcestershire
-- hot sauce (I always used Tobasco)
-- some pepper
-- couple of dashes of celery salt
-- Horseradish if requested

I also made a lot of clam diggers. Same drink as above except you use Clamato juice instead of tomato juice.

20. Ex-bartender here as well....

you are exactly right, everyone likes their bloody slightly different, but generally the way you listed.

One thing I have seen added to them that is a little different and very good is some fresh chopped dill.

Also, I always use the pickled spicy beans instead of celery for garnish.

11. sunday morning
having spent the night at a friends
waking up at one in the afternoon
breakfast in bed
three aspirins for the hangover
washed down with a bloody mary
lots of salt
skewered green olives
a sunday paper spread out across the room
knowing there is nothing you have to do
and you prop yourself up with pillows,
lean back and enjoy the laziness of the afternoon

(ah, to be twenty again!)

12. Y'all are forgetting a small splash of dry sherry........
Other than that, GOOD WORK!

:toast:

Personally, I hate celery and can't stand it when bartenders add a big stick of it to my drink.

18. I love Bloody Marys
and reading these recipes are making me salivate!

If I make them myself at home, I usually make a lazy version that is pretty good.

1 1/2 oz vodka
fill about 2/3 with Mr. & Mrs. T Mix
fill the other 1/3 with V-8 Lemon Twist
generous squeeze of lemon

(I don't like spicy Bloody Marys so this works for me!)
