Am I the only cat owner that think Cat Costumes are NOT a good idea?
Seriously - did they give the cat model an elephant tranquilizer before the cat modeled these outfits?

(I'll make Abbott wear the bunny suit)

(look at those ears laying back - you know this cat isn't happy)

If you really have no problem torturing your poor cat into wearing corny outfits you can buy them all here:

4. I thought you meant a costume for ME.
I was enjoying the thought of showing up here one day in a cat costume. My cats would probably love it. lol

I agree with you that costumes for cats are a bad idea (but funny).

5. Quinn is pissed at me already, if I had the bad taste and audacity to
subject him to that, he'd eat my eyeballs while I slept.

Althea would just sit there and purr.

6. not making judgement
(well maybe - stupid!) but that cat's ears aren't laid back its one of those rag doll cats - the ears are folded forward. (now talk about the ethics of breeding floppy cats)

8. Costumes are stupid but
that cat just looks mellow to me. She doesn't look tranquilized or in pain. Some cats are easy going, really. I knew an old tom that would let kids pick him up and run with him.

10. Our cat
loved our daughter so much. She could pick him up, kinda fling him over her shoulder and just march around the house with him and he'd lay there, limp as a dishrag and totally in love.

He wouldn't allow anyone else to carry him like that.

11. That website is like Abu Ghraib for cats
absolutely humiliating.

My cat would hate me if I tried to put one of those dreadful costumes on her.
She can barely stand a collar.

This strikes me of animal torture.

15. I find it disgusting that some people think it's entertaining to get pets
high or drunk.
It simply is not good for them and is probably terrifying

17. Personally I find anyone who tries to costume their cats pretty sick too
As for drugging my cats - well, Abbott does seem to have a substance abuse problem with the catnip but Evita can't be bothered

18. The Nip. My cat is a niphead as well
I have to buy it all the time. She does her nip, runs around the house and goes crazy for 15-30 minutes but then relaxes and sleeps for hours

I think putting those dreadful costumes on an innocent cat is explicitly outlawed by the Geneva convention

16. I had a ferret
Who recently passed away. My oldest sister is the type who buys Xmas gifts for people's pets as well, and she got three for my li'l pooper one year - an edible chew toy, which my ferret didn't like the flavor of, a large "hamster ball" which I never put her in because she had full run of the house, and a ferret sweater, which I tried to put on her to make my sister happy. That was a struggle.

I think you have to start animals out young getting used to wearing clothes, and then it should be functional - a little extra warmth for those cold winter days provided by a sweater, etc. Cutesy hats are just going to annoy your pet. Also for those who put the hot dog costumes on your weiner dogs - the kind that have the buns hanging on either side of the body, would you like to go out dressed like a hot dog - not just for appearance reasons but just for maneuvarbility's sake? No. Neither does your poor dog.
