**SPOILER WARNING** To anyone who saw "Sixth Sense" or "Fight Club"
...did you figure out the twist ending(s) for either film before it was actually revealed? And if so, at what point did you figure it out?

3. No.
I was lazy and wasn't making any effort to figure anything out -- I was just enjoying the story, in both cases.

6. Fight Club yes, but not the Sixth Sense...
When was it in fight club? Not until it was pretty obvious. Oh yes not until Ed Norton started trying to find Brad Pitt by flying all over the place.

Great movies, both.

7. In the Sixth Sense I assumed we were supposed to know he was dead.
And I'm not particularly good with guessing twists, so I never even try. I don't recall guessing the end of Fight Club, though.

10. Fight Club was cool.
It's funny that people actually formed fight clubs after the movie. I guess they missed the scene where he beats himself up.

11. Yes for Fight Club and No for Sixth Sense
I do remember being pissed off at the twist in Sixth Sense.. I'm one of the rare people who thought that movie sucked ass. It was nauseatingly contrived. "Signs" confirmed my suspicion that the director is a hack.

...the twist in "The Sixth Sense" only because I'd seen (and figured out) that twist in so many other movies before. With the way the critics were going on about this "jaw-dropping" twist, I assumed it was going to be something I'd never seen before but alas it was the kind of ending I'd seen in movies like "Jacob's Ladder", "Siesta", "Carnivale of Souls" and even a French film called "A Pure Formality"--not to mention a number of "Twilight Zone" episodes. I'd latched onto every other red herring the movie threw at me and I was ready for the movie to take me in any direction EXCEPT the one in ultimately took me in. That ending really annoyed me.

I had no clue whatsoever about the "Fight Club" twist.

14. Yep (no spoilers in this post)
Never even saw Sixth Sense, either.

It was pretty transparent. On the other hand, I hear that the movie doesn't depend on that revelation, the other elements are so strong.

Fight Club I got immediately, probably because I DO suffer from sleep disorders. Again, the twist is not essential for the enjoyment of the movie.

In each case, the twist is a plot device to make the plot and motivations coherent in the context of the character. I've met a few people who have watched their Fight Club DVD well over 100 times.

I suppose someday, there may be an audience participation form of Fight Club, where the moviegoers bring soap, lye, chickenfat, cigarettes, fake blood, fake dynamite, etc.

16. Sixth Sense was so damned obvious.
I mean, c'mon. He gets shot in the first seen. I'd be ashamed if I didn't see that coming.

Saw Fight Club piecemeal on television.

17. 6th Sense I did, but not Fight Club...
He gets shot in the first scene then wears the same suit the entire time and nobody other than the kid addresses him directly.

18. the reason "Sixth Sense" made 500 million domestically
is that most people didn't get it and went back 2 even 3 times to get the clues.

Didnt figure out the twist ending of sixth Sense untill it was revealed. (didnt see Fight Club)

How about the Nicole Kidman movie "The Others"? Thats another case of me not figuring out the twist until it was revealed. Pretty good one too!

20. The scene where he was talking to the kid's mom.
Or actually, NOT talking. Just sitting there. I thought that was weird.

Earlier on, I had thought he died, but seeing him again I figured I was wrong. The scene with the mom clinched it.

I don't get how so many people were shocked.

He didn't talk to anyone in the whole movie! Didn't you think that was WEIRD??

Ah well. I didn't guess Fight Club though. :)

21. I never saw all of "Fight Club". Fell asleep twice.
I realize that I'm supposed to like this movie, but I've never been able to stay awake for the whole thing. Same goes for "The Matrix", and I OWN that movie on DVD.

22. No, but I connected those movies too
Not just because they both had twist endings. Most specifically, because they both have the main character not realize something major about himself until the very end even though other people know.
