Anyone know a non-religious "born-again" experience? |
|
Background: Two and a half years ago I had just finished a course in web design and was all revved up to look for a job in a more creative field.
Then my mother offered to lend me a lot of money to buy a house (stock market was tanking but property was going through the roof).
I tried to resist but the £££ signs got to me and I went along with it. The trouble is I ended up living in a completely different location than what I intended and a lot of my energy went into looking for the house so I ended up just getting the first job I could find just to pay the mortgage for my share of the house.
A few months ago I sold the house and moved to the original location that I wanted to live in. Trouble is, things have moved on since then and I don't really have the motivation that I had back then. I'm in my early-mid 30's so another career-break to get back that motivation isn't a good idea career-wise.
Any ideas on how to get that "fresh start" feeling back again? (That doesn't involve any major upheavals).

1. How about a weekend away? |

Maybe you need a change of scenery and a little hedonistic pampering to get you back on-track.

again, that's not going to help career-wise, unless I switch to drug-dealing.

6. So are you working now? |
|
You didn't say if you quit when you moved or not so I am not sure if you are looking for work right now. Getting a new job is always motivating to me. If you are looking for a job, you'll feel better once you get one.

7. I guess you could say my dad is having that with his quitting from alcohol |

From being an agnostic to a belief in a higher power, he's not really religious as he is spirtual. To be nonest its been good, and I use this to get me through days, "You're not better than anyone else and you're not worse than anyone else."
