because of the strategy involved with the game.
But otherwise most sports seem to be back and forth, back and forth, back and forth...
I know there is some skill involved. I admire it. I'm just not obsessed by it, that's all.

My husband doesn't like sports either. He once tried to learn to like football. He sat down for a weekend of football, complete with beer and snacks--only to find the players were on strike and there was no game! He took it as a sign that it was ok for him not to like sports, and football in particular.

6 Nations tournament, 3 joly good games.
It struck me that one could interpret it in an incredibly homoerotic manner. I saw a tad of the Super-Bowl which seemed quite similar; b.t.w. do they actually play for longer than 5 seconds at a time ever? My goodness it was boring.

It was on ALL THE TIME while I was growing up and Dad, Mom, and my 2 brothers were into it. I ignored it in my youth, but after marrying a diehard football fan, I just kind of decided to switch rather than fight it. Weekends are a lot more fun that way for this household.

coached by some women who are friends of ours. Mainly tennis. Not sure where that puts me on a scale. I did not watch the world series per se but listened to it since my computer monitor faces away from the TV. So I like baseball at times. (My Dad used to coach baseball and basketball). My point is that it depends on sharing the interests of people you know and/or grew up with.

I do love baseball, cycling, soccer and hockey. And I don't mind basketball games when watched socially. Football I can take or leave. It's background noise for the most part.
That said, I also enjoy hitting art museums. We've got season tix to the symphony and to a couple of local theatre companies (and, yes, I actually enjoy going), and I typically cannot get into most mainstream action movies.
So... is anything wrong with me?

He does love the Cubs, but that's about it. He would rather watch an old movie or some kind of Trading Spaces type show (gets great ideas, has every tool ever made, but no time for projects at our house.)Now I am the sports fanatic in our house. My Dad is a sports nut so when I was a kid, thats what we watched. He had Blackhawks season tickets when I was a kid, so did I when I was old enough. Our oldest son who is almost 12 has the sports gene from my family. He is a pretty good athlete too. It's kind of funny though, many guys would love to find a girl they could watch a game with who would understand it and enjoy watching it also. Leave it to me to find a guy who would rather be watching something else.

40. According to Wanda Sykes there is nothing wrong with you |
|
Here's what she says about men and football. "I used to think that football took place in this overbearing male-only environment that bled masculine domination. But the more I attend, the more I realize these football fans could actually be experiencing the straight man's gay pride parade. You see men painting each other's faces in bright colors. You see men proud to wear another man's last name on their shirt. You see some men wear no shirt at all....Hot wieners on every corner as you walk up to the main competition. Men open the back of their trunks for a little tailgating." http://shop.comedycentral.com/sm-wanda-sykes-yeah-said-it-book--pi-1872124.html

|
And as a straight guy, it's always made me a little uncomfortable, the same way a heteroerotic ritual of some kind (like, say, the TV show Elimidate) would probably make a gay guy uncomfortable. And so I've never been too much into sports.

...watching professional sports on television. I am most definitely not gay nor do I object to anyone else watching sports on TV. Last evening, I was engaged in conversation with by daughter-in-law's parents during the first half of the Super Bowl in another part of my son's home. We left together and half-time and all of the information I needed regarding the game status at that point, was conveyed to us in less than 20 seconds.
