Edited on Sun Feb-06-05 09:48 PM by clydefrand
The song is "The Gods Love Nubia". I know all you young'uns know everything about music and I know practically nothing so I figured I'd ask you for a site where I can actually hear it all the way through. Found one site, but it played for only few seconds. I have dial up, too.

Last night I was at a local charity function where a young woman sang this song. She was absolutely marvelous! Her name is Nelly Guzman from Sebring, Florida. I think you'll someday hear of her making the big time! I hope so...I don't even know her. But I do know a wonderful voice when I hear it.

Thanks for you input. I want to compare her voice to the artist who recorded it.

1. I don't know but I heard a damn good song last week in the car
with a line in it like this "poor boy off to fight a rich man's war." I wish I knew who it was that sang it so I could buy it. It was a man singing the song ...sort of folksy.

3. Rich Man's War by Steve Earle
Good performer, I saw him open for Dylan back in the day.

Is this the song?

2. google say it's an elton john song
http://www.eltonography.com/songs/the_gods_love_nubia.html

Perhaps it is just as well to enjoy the memory of the way you heard it and not take this matter any further. Not saying Elton John is past his sell-by date or anything...wait a minute...yes I am.

4. Amazona, thanks. I like your avatar. I've seen 3 bald eagles
in the last 3 weeks here in Florida. What a thrill!

Re: The song: Isn't there a woman...Kelly Price? who sings this also. I tried to listen to that, but only got about 30 seconds. Not enough to compare.
