I think I've unravelled the mystery...the job saga continues
Edited on Mon Feb-07-05 09:42 PM by Not_Giving_Up
I'm so glad I grew up on Scooby-Doo!

My boss never called me over the weekend, big suprise. I went to work this morning, and I've yet to figure out was supposedly done on my computer Friday that legitimizes my boss telling me to go home after two and a half hours.

I did, however, find a name and phone number of a temp agency written on the big desk calendar that catches every quick scribble. I'm thinking that they didn't think I'd be there Friday, and had some interviews lined up. Freeper did call the boss as soon as I walked in, but he tends to do that anyway.

So, it looks like they were going to give me the death call over the weekend if they found someone they liked on Friday, but they didn't find anyone dumb enough to take the job. I wonder when they have more interviews scheduled...it would be nice to know, since I only get paid if I'm actually there.

I did do some gathering of information today though, so I'm ready for them when they do the deed.

3. It was really weird
She was there for a little while...acted like nothing had happened.

She really needs to learn how to lie. She told me that Freep's computer was fried, completely unusable. Freep was using it this morning.

4. I hope you hear from that other job soon
so you can tell your current boss to pack sand! It stinks to have to work in a place you can't stand going to every day, especially because of the people.

5. I talked to my stepdad over the weekend...
He says it's open until the 15th, then the resumes go before the union board. From the vibes he gets from the guy (hopefully my future boss!), so far I'm the best qualified. I'm Microsoft Certified in Word and Excel, plus I have experience in benefits, both from the employer AND the agent ends. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :bounce:

6. Good luck and you should also insist
on a good or at least fair recommendation. A bad one (which I've had experience with sadly, for calling an X-boss the nastiest person I've ever worked for-couldn't help myself and it was true!) always is uncomfortable when looking for work elsewhere.

7. I can ask that prospective employers not contact this one
I swear, the careerbuilder commercials during the Super Bowl rang so true. "I'm working with a bunch of monkeys here!" My first thought was "Holy shit! That's my life!"
