Goddamn irs, goddamn dept. education, goddamn me
So, we get my wifes taxes filed, attach form 8379 which state that even though my name is on the return it's all hers don't touch it.
Yesterday, comes a letter from the dept of education: We have snagged your tax return to apply to an oustanding debt.

I call the doe they say call the irs, I call the irs, they say call the doe, I call doe they tell me to resubmit form 8379 to the irs again, around and around it goes.

this all came about in the eighties when the only way to stay alive here was to go to school, unemployment "official" unemployment was 13% unofficial forget about it unless you were related to someone on the inside you didn't go to work ANYWHERE.

So, foolish me thinking that an education was the answer went to college worked my fucking ass off, pulled others in my class through with me helped do their research and write their papers, took the time to explain what they didn't understand when the professors were too busy, so they could graduate with us, then just when we graduate along comes poppy along comes another ressesion, and to top it all off along comes fucking ms.

The job market being shit, and not being able to obtain employment without a script being stuck in my hand, and minimum wage checks, I decided SSI would work just as well.

Now, it's all coming back to bite me in the ass, goddamned awol coke snorting deserters and criminals eat from the fucking fat and here I sit unable to walk and chew gum deteriorating daily, a lowly househusband dependent on my wife, and they snag her tax return because I wanted to keep breathing in the raygun years.

Fuck me running.

1. Welcome to my life
I'll have to start working two jobs again, even though the last time I did that I ended up with a six-month, brutally painful case of gout. The upside is that I'm fighting hard to channel my anger. But, my despair has been borderline suicidal over this. What did I do that was so wrong?

2. Cool it, KittyCat...
You're still breathing, right. I know it sucks, I've been through a family-business bankruptcy that I paid for for 12 years.
F**k them. Your best revenge is living a happy life. Thank the chaos of the universe for your wife. I'm sure she is happy to have you, too. That is the best thing.
You could be on the receiving end of the "fire of freedom" we're spreading in Iraq.
I repeat F**k them. Keep Breathing.

5. Exactly.. If you still "owe", then just have less withheld throughout
the year (more weekly paycheck money too)..and set some aside to pay what you might owe in April :)

6. I feel your pain
When I divorced my first hubby, I had 2 small kids and no skills. I managed to enroll in a community college and juggled kids and school and maintained a 3.85 gpa for two years. Then along came second hubby who was a doll for a year or so (long enough to reel me in) and then turned into a nightmare. He bullied me into taking out two student loans (which I'd avoided doing up to that point) and giving him the money to buy drugs to sell (not a happy thing to discover, that hubby is a drug dealer).

Not wanting to get beat up (again), I did it and figured I'd straighten it out later (he assured me he'd "triple it overnight and pay them off" - I never saw a cent but was not surprised by that).

Eventually, I had to quit school because of him (he'd take the car and not return - wouldn't show up to watch our son, etc.) and the loans hung over my head like a Sword of Damocles for some ten years. Every year, the IRS would attach any refund I got but it would only pay the interest.

The sucky part is that I now pay the scumbag over $600 a month in child support!! God, I hate that man!

Anyway, last week, I took out a loan against my 401K and wrote a check for $3939.16 and they are now paid off. I'm just grateful that I have the 401K. And my health and my job. And that I'm rid of him.
