http://www.tvtome.com/Enterprise/The first time since God knows when that a Star Trek franchise will not be on the air? Man, this sucks

1. There is Battlestar Galactica now. |
|
And it's head and shoulders over Enterprise.
I loved the Star Trek franchise, but it really needs to take a breather for a few years.

2. It's pretty good, but I'm wondering how long they can keep it up |
|
At some point, they're going to have to move away from character development (which has been heavily driving the show so far) and move to story line. Will be interesting to see how the series develops.

3. Olmos and McDonnell are captivating. |
|
I love seeing them perform. Even if they were given a lousy script, they could do a lot with it.

4. I guess I feel like they may be writing themselves into a corner |
|
They've set up this really dramatic prologue. All of humanity (except for 47,000) is wiped out by an virtually unstopable enemy bent on total genocidal conquest. The odds are so overwhelming how do you write a realistic solution that keeps up the dramatic suspense yet is still plausible for how, season after season, we still see BG and the rag tag fleet flying on.

5. I don't know but I give them MAJOR prop |
|
for actually improving on the original. I fully expected to be disappointed, and have enjoyed every episode immensely.
I wish they would flesh out the Caprica subplot a bit, though...

6. I'm curious where they're going with it |
|
My impression is that after 237(?) jumps the fleet has to be impossibly far away. How could they ever hope to meet up again? Still, ya know it's going to happen somehow - 'least I think so anyway. :)

7. I'm not a stickler about plot details. |
|
I'm so enjoying the characters, and the new interpretations of old Galactica ideas.
Last week's episode, with Starbuck trying to start up the crashed Cylon raiser just HAD to be based on the "Galactica 1980" episode where the Dirk Benedict Starbuck was marooned on a waste planet with a Cylon centurion and had to learn to get along with him a al a "Enemy Mine"
I loved it.
I've had several glasses of merlot now, so forgive me if I get incoherent, Not long until beddy-bye time, now....
