What do Jerry Springer and Phil Donahue have in common? |
|
besides being pioneers (in their own ways) of the TV talkshow format?
They are both from, yes thats right, OHIO !
Not only that they are from Cincinatti and Dayton respectively...started their talkshow careeers in those two citys...only 45 minutes apart.
And both citys are in Southwest Ohio, which is a very Republican and Conservative area....odd considering the liberal leanings of Jerry and Phil (another think they have in common...both are liberal Democrats).

1. Maybe Phil should run for the Senate. |
|
Because he surpasses Springer in every possible way.

He was born in England, I'm pretty sure. I grew up the neighboring county (Clermont), and I remember him kidding around on his talk show back in the seventies (it was an Oprah-style variety show, and he did some really good interviews, it wasn't trashy at all) that he'd never be able to be President because he wasn't born in the U.S.
He did run for governor of Ohio in 1980. I voted for him in the primaries, it was the first vote I ever cast.
Of course, having teenage Nazi vampire hookers who have affairs with their paraplegic stepfathers on his television show day after day pretty much took care of that for him anyway, no matter where he was born ...
