|
They're coming in on the noon train to take over a town and make it submit by brute force and the barrel of a gun. Frank Miller and his boys are outside the law, yet some of the townspeople are actually contemplating ways of welcoming them, and are rationalizing their attempts to try and get in good with them.
Republican all the way.

61. William Harrison Mitchell from "Dave". |
|
There was a lot of snickering when "Dave" first came out; You know, President named Bill fooling around with secretaries; strong-willed wife and all that. But if you watch the film closely, you'll see that the character of the real Bill Mitchell is clearly a Republican. Wants to shut down homeless shelters and pin it on his subordinates. Wants to veto a comprehensive job creation bill. Alan Simpson-R "carries water" for him. Has an evil, power-mad Chief-of-Staff who counts Ben Stein among his friends. Is essentially a brain-dead political zombie propped up by his greedy supporters.
Yep. Bill Mitchell. Definitely a Repuke.

NOBODY would buy the idea of someone as pleasant as Dave attempting to elope with Bar (whom Richard Nixon himself said "knows how to hate").
And there actually were some rumors about GHWB having affairs with staff, so I don't think that part was necessarily aimed at Clinton.

|
I remember the show, and the cartoon charater was Cosmic Cow...Henry Rush, I think his character name was...I KNOW it was Henry, and pretty sure "Rush" was the last name.
that's the same show where he had the two pretty daughters, it's set in San Francisco...and he hates Monroe, who really is a bit of an idiot...
That's the sitcom, right??
If so, it is "Too Close For Comfort."

I posted something about Too Close For Comfort just the other day. His name was Henry Rush and his comic was "Cosmic Cow." And they had a "very special episode" where Munroe gets sexually abused by some ladies despite being patently gay.

Senator: There's a saying, Fletcher, "To the victor belongs the spoils". Fletcher: There's another saying, Senator, "Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining".
Fletcher: You told me those men would be treated decently. Senator Lane: They were. They were decently fed and then they were decently shot.

I hated the movie but watched with a combination of revulsion and fascination. The dangerfield role as a wife abuser and a man who raped his daughter is a big part of many repugs..the macho power, wierd sex control thingee..

119. Isn't ANYONE Gonna Comment On THIS Nomination?? |
|
If there EVER was ANYONE more suited to be a Republican than that evil bitch from "Flowers In The Attic" by V.C. Andrews, then I haven't a fucking clue who would be...except maybe the mother, towards the end of the novel/movie...depending on which one you're familiar with...because they made a movie out of the novel.
Jesus, V.C. Andrews had a can of worms for a mind, even THINKING about that novel still makes my skin crawl!! That woman was the pure EMBODIMENT of evil!!
And, I tell you, the Repukes would LOVE her!! Couldn't tell them apart! They'd be like peas in a pod!
And, yes, I think most modern-day 'Pukes would be PERFECTLY willing and capable...of doing to children what that grandmother and mother did...AND FEEL RIGHTEOUS ABOUT IT, TOO!!
If you have never seen the movie, or read the novel, I recommend it. But don't eat just before watching it...or reading it. I'm sincere, you will feel such revulsion for these people that you will lose whatever it is you ate!

Dour, pious in the most dysfunctional way, always ready to step on anyone who might be having fun. He would have got on like gangbusters with John Ashcroft.
Mr. Adrian in Elizabeth Jane Howard's "Getting It Right" is also pure GOP.
And I forget the names of all the people who were rotten to Jane Eyre, but they fit in the GOP mold, too.
And that brat who tormented Scout in "To Kill a Mockingbird." And I guess Bob Ewell fits in well with today's Republican Party.
