Cats or Dogs?
i've always liked kittens, but as soon as they turn into cats, something unpleasant happens. I'm gonna have to go with dogs...specifically, a nice Lab or Retriever.

or...

6. hmm, you must have gotten "Why Cats Paint"
and hated it as much as you hate modern art!

Cats are not pretentious dickwads. Some modern art is, yes, but cats are not. Some, not all, cats are just cool and aloof, which does not equate with pretention.

5. You can love them both
Right now, I have only cats because I don't have time to devote to a dog. Cats sleep 16 hours a day and are not as demanding of your attention when they are awake. They also keep vermin away.
Cats are cleaner and don't smell like dogs -- definitely another advantage.
However, if you're a runner or hiker, dogs are great companions. You can't bring a cat with you on a run or hike.

67. Yes, absolutely.
And hamsters, guinea pigs, birds, whatever. Sharing your life with an animal (or two or more) brings joy to your life.

And anybody who said anything bad about dogs or cats - you're prejudiced. Don't dislike any being you don't understand, just because they're being who they are.

32. LOL! Well, me and the s.o.
I had 2 cats, then we got hitched, then we rescued 3 kittens, then the rest of their family started hanging out around the patio outside, then we rescued one more, then we had all the outdoor ones fixed/neutered/made bereft of standard equipment, then we lost one of the indoor kitties, then...

A possum named Eliot and a raccoon named Reggie also visit from time to time. I'm 3 minutes from downtown in Houstopolis, and it's like a freaking ark over here.

Dogs have owners, cats have staff. :D

14. I never see anyone mention this
My family used to have cats. When I walked in the kitchen there was often the the sound of paws landing on the kitchen floor, sounded like b'dum. Front feet, then back feet. The cat would jump from the kitchen counter when it heard someone approach. I've seen several cats do this. I like them o.k. but this is intolerable.

"All your base are belong to us" j/k

I'm more of a cat person, maybe becuase cats are always huggable and almost every dog I've met(when visiting other people's houses) plays too rough, but they usally stop when I visit more frequently.

BTW the puppy is cute, is it yours?

Unpretentious, a solid working person's animal if I've ever seen one. My dogs are better friends to me than I probably deserve. When you get down about having the proverbial boot on your neck, it's nice to have an animal that is completely convinced that you are God.

how does one forget to feed a bird. Especially a Keet. They are no trouble. Get another, they are so sweet. Parrots are alot of trouble but are great fun. If we ever get to take a vacation though I will have to get a sitter, my folks can't gingerly walk in and feed them and leave like they did *Conway Tweety* . Arlo and Ollie would eat them alive. They don't take to people that they don't see every day very well. lol

I have a Lab and a few felines running around the house. I know, I know, it's like a mad-house at times, but they've taught me a lot about how to live within a true, democratic way, teaching me "tolerance," and "love" regardless.

Now, there are those special moments, but think of the cats as giving something for the dog to watchover while you're away from the house.

I think dogs are cute, and I spent two hours tonight going all goo goo

cats are it.

and I have owned dogs so I have basis for comparison.

Cats just suit my personality and lifestyle better, I think.

Besides, they purr, and they don't have to be walked, andyou can leave them alone for the weekend without any difficulties.
