Can anyone here give me NYC hotel recommendations? |
|
I am going in May with a pretty big group- 8 people. Do you know of any good hotels? I go fairly often & have stayed at Le Parker Meridien, The Sheraton(s), The Hilton, Doubletree Suites, a best Western, the Ameritania.
But I always feel like I should ask

you say a group of 8, and not more than $400/night...how many rooms do you want to get for the $400?...or is that per room? or are you looking for a couple of suites?

It really works well. Try their best class for about half price. Then add another part of town that you like and try for some more money. You can probably get something awesome. I have had great stays in Cleveland, Philly, Miami, and Beverly Hills using them. I saved lots of money.

across the street from the Waldorf. Got a good rate through Hotwire, I think it was. The room was small but beautiful; the bed was huge. How this would translate to a party of 8 of course, I have no idea.

7. Is there any such thing as... |
|
...a decent hotel room in NYC for under $125/night? Doesn't have to be in Manhattan (natch), but close would be good.

9. I stayed at a hotel in the theater district |

A year or so ago. It was Radio City Apartments. Also called Radio City Suites. About $110 a night back then. Small rooms, but they had kitchens! Handy location too.

Had to battle half my roomies for who wanted air on and who didn't.
Elevator worked. It's an old building, but it worked for me.

They have them all over town, they're really nice and pretty reasonable for NYC. If you have a big group, their suites aren't very expensive. I had a party for about 20 in one of their suites a couple of years ago.
My favorite midtown hotel is the Royalton, and downtown I like the Soho Grand.
