Lots of coffee for me today...I could easily nod off...zzzzzzzz |
|
EARLY this morning (around 2AM), my cat decided that she needed some attention and NOW. She jumped up on my bed, got up on my stomach and starting doing the kneading on my neck thing (which is always cute, but not when I'm trying to sleep). After SHE decided enough was enough and jumped off the bed, I couldn't get back to sleep. I've had a grand total of about 3 1/2 hours of sleep last night.
zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Here's my week so far:
Sunday - went into work around noon to catch up on my project. Pulled an all-nighter, left work at about 4:30 Monday afternoon.
Monday evening: cook dinner, do laundry, then 8 hours of the most heavenly sleep of my life.
Tuesday: Talk to the boss. Decide to stay late to work on the project again. Stayed all night again.
Wednesday morning: Still at work. Need coffee. Not hallucinating yet.

so I'm not firing on all cylinders anyway. For me it's been left over Valentine's chocolate to try to re-energize. ;)

6. I caught my second wind after the last cup of coffee |
|
I'll go home and shower over lunch, and I should be fine for the rest of the day. Two all-nighters in 3 days and only one pink, flying elephant! And he didn't even tell me to start fires this time! Not too shabby! :)

7. OK now listen to my tale of woe, terrya |

Edited on Wed Feb-16-05 10:52 AM by Skittles
for the past three weeks they've been doing major maintenance on my apartment building and several other buildings, pulling out railway wood ties and replacing them with brick. So right outside my bedroom window is a 15 foot pile of dirt and stones and they cut these stones and in general make a racket all day long (they start at 7:00 AM and conveniently quit as soon as I leave for work).
I work 12 hour shifts at night, 6PM to 6AM. So on certain days like Mondays I get zero - that's right - NO sleep so I work a 12 hour shift, stay up all day, then work another 12 hour shift. I've taken the last 3 Tuesdays off as vacation days just to sleep (cannot take off otherwise due to staffing situation).
A couple days I've fallen asleep a couple hours out of sheer exhaustion but yesterday I calculated that in 3 entire DAYS I had had SEVEN HOURS SLEEP.

I feel abashed now about posting my comments.
God, that's terrible. No one should have to put up with what you're dealing with.
I do hope that they finish the maintenance on your apartment building very, very soon so that you can get some sleep again.
Sorry to hear about that, Skittles
