Favorite Pink Floyd album? |
|
I know it's cliche to admit it, but I'm still going to go with Dark Side of the Moon. How about you?

25. Animals is my favorite, too... |
|
However, if the question was, "what Pink Floyd album is best to get high (i.e. 'trip') to," well, then it's Ummagumma, hands down...

Dubya singing:
Are there any queers in the theater tonight? Get them up against the wall! There's one in the spotlight, he don't look right to me, Get him up against the wall! That one looks Jewish! And that one's a coon! Who let all of this riff-raff into the room? There's one smoking a joint, And another with spots! If I had my way, I'd have all of you shot!

at high school. He left it on for the next student to find.
He was reported to the principal (he made the other student scared). He had to go to youth crisis counseling for "students at risk."
We live in an extreme repuke neighborhood. They just don't get it.

When I was having to talk to the counselor during the episode, I found out she had never heard of Pink Floyd. She was my age and raised "strict Baptist."
But she had a job as a counselor of high school students. Whoever hired her for that surely had to be an "American Idiot."

But what do you want to bet that if my son had left some verses on there about hellfire and damnation, nothing would have been said?

12. I'm tempted to say Meddle as well. |
|
I like DSoTM a LOT, but I so love Echoes, One of These Days, and San Tropez.
Then again I could also say Wish You Were Here... or maybe Animals...
I can't choose!

13. Obscured By Clouds....dedicate Childhood's End from it to HST..... |
|
You shout in your sleep Perhaps the price is just too steep Is your conscience at rest If once put to the test? You awake with a start To just the beating of your heart Just one man beneath the sky Just two ears, just two eyes
You set sail across the sea Of longpast thoughts and memories childhood's end You fantasies merge with harsh realities And then as the sail is hoist You find you eyes are growing moist All the fears never voiced Say you have to make your final choice
Who are you and who am I to say we know the reason why? Some are born Some men die beneath one infinite sky There'll be war, there'll be peace But ev'rything one day will cease All the iron turned to rust All the proud men turned to dust And so all things, time will mend So this song will end

28. Listened to Dark Side |
|
my first experience smokin reef.
My friend turned off all the lights in his room (he had a black light) and listen to it through his headphones. But the kicker was the also had it playing through his stereo full blast too. So I got the double stereo effect.
OMG, that part with the helicopter blades sounds freaked me out. In a good way of course.
Awesome album.

Obscured By the Dark Side Of The Moon while I was in the Meddle of having sex with Animals against The Wall and watching Piper at the Gates of Dawn I Wished You Were Here to share A Saucerful Of Secrets. And if you say Ummagumma then it's The Final Cut.

Animals comes in a close second. There is an awesome guitar solo that I love in the song "Dogs" that's gotta be one of the best Floyd (Gilmore?) solos ever!

It's really hard to pick a favorite...depends on my mood. Kind of like having to pick between Waters and Gilmour.
