1. On the curb? Like waiting for the trash pick-up?
It's your ecological duty to recycle them!

Unless someone starts running toward you, shouting, "Hey, you! Whattaya think you're doing?"

3. in chicago
people clear out the snow from their parking spot and use things like chairs, sawhorses, etc. to show others that "hey, this is my spot."

now these really nice folding chairs have been sitting there, right outside my window taunting me and i want to go get them (we barely have a stick of furniture around here at the casa de los whackos).

4. try www.freecycle.org (that's .org, not .com) and you can post
Wanted: Folding Chairs. or a sofa. or even a car. (I've seen two cars given away in the past few weeks there.)

People post stuff they want to get rid of without filling up dumpsters, and people in their area just come and get it for free.

Or, if you WANT something, post that and quite often you can get it, completely free!
