Random song lyrics..does any one recognize this...
Group? Song? Opinion? Interpretation?

I think it's pretty cool...but that just might be just me...

In the abyss of space
From the center of time
A superman race
Moves the Serpent to climb

The journey has lasted
Seven ages or more
Life after life
Must pass through the door

The secret revealed
When you leave your cave
Is a glory of thunder
And life from the grave

The Serpent is rising
Uncoiling in your spine
Bringing you light
From the depths of your mind

The people have massed
In the center of town
We drink from a glass
And the world turns around

The Serpent is rising
Uncoiling in your spine
Bringing you light
From the depths of your mind

The Serpent is rising
Uncoiling in your spine
Bringing you light
From the depths of your mind

The Serpent is rising
Uncoiling in your spine
Bringing you light
From the depths of your mind

1. Sorry, I keep thinking Spinal Tap.
But I have a hunch that's not it.

6. I was 10 then.
I think my only album was K-Tel's "Goofy Greats".

12. Awesome!
I love Styx, too. Not enough to do a q&a about them, but they're pretty awesome!

4. Sounds like some metal lyrics from the 80s
Interpretation - the serpent in your mind is satan, of course. The whole song is about satan worship.

Are these lyrics frontwards or backwards? ;)

7. It was once said by one of the band members....
Can't remember which one, that the song is actually about an erection.

I'm not kidding, I think it was Rolling Stone that I read that in.

11. Sounds like it to me...
How very Freudian. ;-)

OTOH, I didn't really know who Styx was until "Paradise Theater." So it looks like this song was quite a bit earlier than that...
