West Wing-ers! Boycott tonight's episode!
Josh and Toby getting in a fistfight???????????????

Who the FUCK came up with THAT story idea??????????

If the producers see their ratings take a precarious dip tonight, maybe they'll stop insulting us with this throwdown horseshit.

The season so far has been fairly well written; almost back up to the standards of Aaron Sorkin's tenure as head writer. I'm sure the producers check the ratings while biting their nails anxiously. We need to get the message out that we will not be taken in by sweeps-month bullshit.

Join me in a boycott of tonight's episode.

5. What is Tobey doing this season? I forget
I don't even know what this will be about.

I can see Will and Tobey getting into it but not Tobey and Josh.

4. I'm betting Toby takes down Josh pretty quickly.
Yeah, the previews looked pretty silly to me.

7. I fail to see how this boycott differs from just plain not watching
a show that you think is shitty?

I guess I've been boycotting Everybody Loves Raymond for years and have not even known it!

I'll be watching the show tonight.

9. It's a subjective concept, I guess. Against my better judgement,

I started watching WW at the beginning of the season, only to be pleasantly surprised at the improvement in the writing over last season. (First season without Aaron Sorkin). Except for the fact that they make C.J. of all people chief-of-staff, the writing has been pretty good so far. Last week's episode did AS proud, I'm sure; and then they preview some stupid fist fight between Josh and Toby. It screamed "ratings stunt".

My point in posting this thread is that if the ratings were to take a sudden deep dip this week, and then go back up next week, the people in charge might actually connect the dots to this stupid episode.

BTW, if you're going to watch it tonight, could you give me an after-action review? I can't imagine that it would be a sterling episode except for the one thing they're promoting about it, but just in case.....

10. I agree with your whole post except if I may, I suggest that...
...you should at least watch and see what actually happens. The writing IS much better this season.

I think you not watching will only count if you have a Neilson box in your house.

Their ratings aren't that great anyway. I think NBC keeps it on for the prestige factor.

11. Well, I'm using my pique over the whole mess as an excuse
to finally check out the veteran's support group at my church. So I'm gonna miss it one way or the other.
