Female in need of Kidney Stone discussion NOW. |
|
Uh... Please advise, I have the sudden onset of symptoms, no fever, lots of pain, and the other "stuff". There is a tremendous thunderstorm headed this way and it is miles to the hospital. Do I stay here, do I go there? Suggestions??????? Advice??????????

Don't diagnose yourself. You could only be in for some major pain later on.

4. If you can't get someone to drive you |

just call an ambulance. Dealing with that kind of pain, a thunderstorm at night, and driving is a bad combination.
Sending you good thoughts.

5. If You Can Pee, There's No Emergency |
|
I pass stones (6 - 8mm) every 30-45 days. If you can pee and there's no fever, the only reason to go to the ER is for pain relief, but they won't let you drive yourself home. If you cannot pee, you must go to the ER immediately.
If this is your first stone, you probably want to get it evaluated; some stones are not visible on xray and some not on sonogram. Most stones are not dangerous; they just hurt. (I never go to the ER with one; see above about not being allowed to drive home.)

Thanks, I just heard there is 2 1/2 inch diameter hail headed this way. I have pain meds for fibromyalgia and I am drinking loads of water and some cranberry juice. No nausea just pain and blood. How long do they take to pass, it already in the groin area.
