it's a fist counting 1-10 in ASL.

most, maybe all, of these, have meaning in asl, but it's not counting.

the 2 and 4 are wrong; as are most of the 6+ numbers, which generally involve touching the thumb to a finger.

the one that looks like a "c" is, well, the letter "c".
the thumb and little finger extended form the letter "y".
the thumb, little, and index fingers extended mean "i love you".

there are at least three ASL signs in there: I love you, "C", "M".
The rest appears to be simply counting.
It is NOT ASL counting, though, which is a bit different than just counting off fingers.

so its a puzzlement to me. Where did you get it from?

I should add that my knowledge of ASL is limited: I worked with a hearing impaired coworker for a couple of years and he taught me all I know, so he and I could have conversations. I'm by no means an expert.

where it came. And I just checked each .gif frame and there's no written comments to indicate its origin. Oh, well.
