"ER" a great show tonight. Covering one of their docs who went to war. |
|
Nice to see not every show has to spout **'s propaganda.

2. Gallant went over last spring to serve as an Army Doc. they've |
|
been bouncing back and forth between Neela back home and him over in Iraq. Covering the similarities and differences in what each is going through.
What has been tremendous about this show is that Gallant (very much in character) talks about how he is unsure if his patients are heroes or victims, how unfair it is to send home young enlisted men with fewer body parts than they arrived with. How the reservists and guardsmen are serving where they never expected to and asked to extend their tours time and again. Talks about how painful it is that he cannot perform the same level of care as at home, how if they took in civilians they would run through all their beds and supplies in half a day, yet it hurts to keep turning them away.
Then with the truck blowing up and burning both the driver and a little Iraqi girl on the side of the road, it shows that Americans are not the only victims, but also just how dangerous things still are over there.

M*A*S*H (Well, M*A*S*H will always be #1 in my book, but this episode of ER is holding up well on its own merits.)

|
"West Wing" after 9/11 and did that episode called "Isaac and Ishmael" so that all Americans could be instructed on the whys and wherefores of Middle Eastern tension and why we all need to be vigilant in looking out for terrasts?
