Anybody know if the drug Ephedrine is still legal?

Because I need something to keep me awake for a couple of hours on Monday for a VERY BORING lecture and I won't be able to step out to take several caffeine pills, and drinks aren't allowed in the hall (don't ask me why).

I heard it's a powerful stimulant and still legal, but I couldn't find it, which leads me to believe it's not.

So, can I get it, and if so, where?

They're a favorite among truckers, and contain Ephedrine as far as I know.

In California, it's either off the market or in regulated quantities per customer. I know about 2 years ago I bought a bottle of Metabolife and they actually carded me at the grocery store and I was 40 at the time!

I couldn't take one and sit still all day. You're awake but fidgety as hell.

10. Ephedrine is NASTY.

When taking an ephedrine-based dietary supplement, you may get a stimulant effect from it, but it is likely to also make you feel anxious, jittery, or even queasy. (I speak from experience.)
As a pharmaceutical drug, it is mostly used to open airways (for asthma). The problem is that with what you buy in quickie marts and gas stations, this stuff is produced without regulation and there's inconsistent potency among what's being sold.
I'm not intending to be a cheerleader for drug companies or the FDA, but read for yourself and see what you think:

Bottom line: ephedrine can cause high blood pressure, heart attack, or stroke, and young people are susceptible.
I have plenty of experience as a sleep-deprived student. I suggest chugging an energy drink (Rockstar or Whoop-Ass). They contain caffeine, guarana, taurine and B-vitamins, and if not chugged in multiples, are relatively safe.
