6. He used to roll over on me in his sleep. |

I would be stuck there until he had to move into a different position.

But astral relations are best carried out with other astral bodies; not the physical sort in slumber.

Every soul traveler knows that penis size does not matter on the astral levels. Its all about love and emotion.

15. It's called "Sleep Apnia," and you should get it checked out... |
|
It's more common than you think, and it's very serious to have blocked airways when you're asleep. It's what killed that football guy everyone loved a couple of months ago during the playoffs.
In a nutshell, the body turns off your ability to move when you reach deep levels of sleep. This is to prevent you from flailing about and injuring yourself as you sleep and dream. That's why it's rare for you to fall out of bed, no matter how disturbing the dream.
When your airway gets blocked, either through your sleep position or some other factor, your body reacts by attempting to wake you up. Sometimes you wake up, or reach that trasitory level of sleep between wakefulness and dreamland, before the part of your brain that turns on/off your motor skills can be activated.
People who've had this experience often feel they can't move or breathe, feel pressure or a strange presence in the room. This sleep apnia phenomenon has been blamed on ghosts, the grim reaper, alien abductions, and now... the hag!
Seriously, if you're having these problems, you need to get yourself checked out at a sleep clinic. Blocked airways during sleep = death.

18. It's happened to me twice.... |
|
and it scared me shitless. Seriously, it felt like there was a force not just on my chest but trying to squeeze me out of my whole body. You'd expect it to happen to a child, but I was in my mid-thirties.
In other words, I haven't repeated the experience for many years now.B-) .
Thanx for the explanation--I mean it, I really appreciate it! I have a neurological condition called Basilar Artery Migraine. It doesn't surface often enough to interfere with my life, but which without going into graphic detail it creates auras, odd sensations, dizziness and sometimes loss of consciousness. I just put the Old Hag experience down to that--I'm very surprised to see it's actually a real condition!

20. Yes I learned that from Peter Jennings the other night |
|
I think I have had the experience of having a frightening dream which I think is real, but I can't cry out for help. Thats the worst part of it and I guess I didn't realize that there was paralysis involved in some parts of sleep. However, I never thought I was being abducted by aliens or sat on by a hag. It was more like I was afraid someone was breaking into my house and I couldn't get up or do anything about it. Very scary.

21. Happened to a roommate once |
|
I woke up when he started screaming in the middle of the night, and the feet end of his bed was bouncing up and down about 2 feet off the ground.
It was some weird shit.

I've had the experience a few times, although it didn't manifest itself to me as an 'old hag'. :)

24. It used to happen to me all the time |
|
Then I told my therapist about it and she explained the science behind it. I was greatly comforted (though I never thought it was a ghost - never felt any evil presence either - I just hated the feeling of helplessness!)
After I knew what it was - it never happened again, strange, no?

25. I've had it happen twice |
|
The first time I woke up to complete blackness. I couldn't see or hear anything, but I could feel "something evil" out there. Scared the hell out of me. But I went back to sleep and had the best dream of my life. I can't remember too much of it except meeting what seemed like an angel. Pretty strange, since I don't believe in God or angels or devils.
The second time, I remember thinking that something was wrong with the bathroom door, but no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't turn my head and look to see what it was. I remember trying to find the reason why I couldn't look at it. When I was fully awake, I realized what had happened & thought it was incredibly funny.
