... here and in the press, it's Dubya's endearment. I would guess that "Pickles" is just one more of the nicknames he gives people; in this case, it's probably meant to suggest that she's a sourpuss, likely because she was, in his days of dissolution, disapproving of his behavior.

I don't know, I just like to remind everyone that she killed a guy and some people say she may have been drunk when she did it. I also heard the rumor she used to sell dope while in college.

the First Lady operated a motor vehicle in a irresponsible manner, possibly while under the influence of alcohol, hurdled through a stop sign and killed a teenage boy. She says it was a horrible accident but, I feel she's just another repug who will not take responsibility for her actions.

I thought Laura was called Pickles in a reference to Buddy's wife, Pickles, on the Dick Van Dyke show. You know, the wife that was never seen -- always absent.
