Poll question: Are you an Angler?
I'm quite fond of fishing, even more so if I catch something other than an old shoe.

1. I grew up doing lots of fishing in Northern Wisconsin
with my family. My folks live on a lake now up north.

It's not something I go out of my way to do anymore, but it is one of those things I love to do with my Dad...

10. I never really did it with my family, except for a few times
I've caught only about 3 or 4 fish in my life, but I still enjoy it nevertheless.

2. There is something about sitting by the water..........
I tell people that the only reason I fish is because I would look like a moron just sitting there staring at the water.

4. Fishing with electricity is loads of fun!
It's really exciting to electrofish a stream and hit a school of fish. Everything comes to the surface at once-the water boils.

11. Interesting
What did you find out?
I remember one of the more interesting things that I found out about electrofishing is that-especially with stream basses, like smallmouth bass-there's little to no migration due to electrofishing at all. A fishing crew often will find a smallmouth in one spot, mark it, come back in a week, and find him in the exact place. They aren't scared away from the site at all...if it were me, and an electric arc came through and stunned me, I would consider moving to another place.

6. Delaware River, baybee!!!
Shad season starts reasonably soon, followed by Stripers, Walleye, smallies, cats, muskies and ghod knows what else.

In Fisherman reckons it gets about 1-3% of its sustainable fishing pressure. Which means you can go the better part of the day and never see another fisherman.

Hell, man, I walk. I live pretty far upriver, in Warren County NJ. About a quarter mile from the river.

7. I love it...
Fly fishing is my favorite, but I don't have time to backpack any more and that was when I would fly fish... I do all other kinds though when ever I have time, but that isn't very often...

9. I love fishing so much, I built my own fishing pond.
My son who is an Art Teacher did this water color painting of a Walleye for me for a Christmas present. It's on my den wall next to the Bluegill and Crappie paintings he did for me.

12. Dang, that's a really good painting
I have the utmost respect for anyone who can paint. I'm the type who couldn't draw a straight line if my life depended on it. I would be better suited to trying my hand at modern art.

14. I love fishing in Northern Minnesota and Canada.
Half the enjoyment of fishing up north is being in the wilderness.

15. Prefer Saltwater Angling over Freshwater
But Freshwater can fun occasionally.

My favorite angling adventure was at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia about 18 years ago.
