So far, we have four murder stories, and now we are on an armed robbery story.

In between, the weather guy gave us these remarkable gems:

"It hasn't been the prettiest day today."

"How much rain have we gotten? Well, a LOT!"

I quickly realized why I don't normally bother to watch the local news. Or any visual news media for that matter.

By the way, a couple of years ago, we had a bad ice storm here. I was watching the local weather report and they had a guy outside with a camera crew and he bent down to the icy ground and held his microphone down near the ground, then hit his fist on the ice to SHOW US HOW ICY IT WAS.

Is there some kind of requirement that reporters be completely inane?
