Daddy Cool fans: a senior moment |
|
Just got back from hanging out with my nephews. Watched a tape by "The Wiggles", who I actually have a great appreciation for. But in the middle of the video, The Wiggles were joined by Ross Wilson and cranked out a version of "Eagle Rock"!
A song that rocked my teenage world back in 1971!
God, I'm old.
Actually, it was a pretty fair version of the song. My nephews couldn't believe I was singing along with it at the top of my lungs.

in 1971-2? The guy with the beard who sang was really animated. They were on a bill with The Pure Food and Drug Act and Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band. The Announcer/MC was Dr Dimento. This was at the Ooooold Fox Theater in Long Beach Ca. Eagle Rock has a real catchy guitar riff.

"Eagle Rock" still holds the record for longest time at #1 for any Aussie band on the Aussie charts.
I'm Casey Kasem - on with the countdown!
