1. I'm sure I can come up with a cogent response . . . |
|
As soon as I figure what the heck you're talking about.
Starting off with the observation that saying "The White Album ain't so bad" is equivalent to saying "The Sistine Chapel has a nicely painted ceiling," I'm not sure where we go from there.

people seldom agree on which ones are "lame" and which ones aren't.

I may be a little dense, but I don't really understand the sentence that you wrote. :-)
That said, I would have to agree that the White Album definitely isn't so bad. I've been playing Beatles albums to death for years, and it is probably the one I have gotten the least sick of after repeated plays. Interesting, 'cause it started out as one of my least favorites by them ('course I was in second grade when I first listened to it, so it may have been because several of the songs are more "adult.")
So yeah, definitely an overall good album; my favorites from it are "Dear Prudence", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Happiness Is a Warm Gun", "Rocky Raccoon", "I Will", "Sexy Sadie", "Helter Skelter", "Long, Long, Long", and "Cry Baby Cry." And I don't really skip over much- well sometimes maybe "Revolution 9"... alright, most of the time "Revolution 9." But to me it's one of those albums that's awesome to just listen to the whole thing instead of just individual tracks.

"You've got enough good songs here for one great disc." (BTW, Beatles 4 Ever!)

10. "Piggies" is certainly timeless... |
|
...In their styes with all their backing, They don't care What goes on around. In their eyes there's something lacking, What they need's a damn good whacking...
