Does someone have a link to the post that got her banned? I was just browsing the forums and found this. I'm really surprised. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=120x30618

specifics...I'm not questioning the judgement of the mods but this is the first I've heard about it. What was she saying on other forums? Was she part of the "disruptor" group?

I thought she was actually moderating HERE and banned for posting on a conservative site. But if she worked her way up through the right wing ranks and was moderating THEIR SITE, it is obvious why it happened. Very surprising though considering she had been here so long. I didn't know 'moles' could be so persistent.

she was choosing to leave anyway.
right or wrong she was bidding adieu.
the board is bigger than one person and it was obvious that her support for the troops wasn't standing up to the scrutiny found in these pages.
We can't pull punches because someone is having moments of doubt.

I've been busy with several other projects and caught the tail end of Vetwife's departure.
Superficially it seemed that she was leaving DU because we "don't support the troops".
She was presenting an idealized view of the "troops" or so it seemed to me in the few posts of hers that I did read. I sort of wonder about someone who's screen persona is "wife of ???"
So what? With the long military history of the US -- most families who have been in the US for a few generations have ancestors who've fought in nearly every conflict.
I just happen to be a military brat -- my father was career military. So I've seen both sides -- and the "troops" (to me that word sounds more Army or Marine). Vets aren't all saints or sinner -- they are humans and very often their military training and/or experiences brings out some of the worse of human nature.
"Support the troops" has become a code word for -- support bush's right to do what ever he wants with the military -- while all of the US resources are being stolen by the military industrial complex.
The real support the troops movement is the effort to get the "troops" back to the US -- to keep teenagers OUT of the military and hopefully to have a Peace based military sometime in the near future.
So Vetwife has been exposed as a troll -- working for the "other" side.
In the past few months we've seen two examples of what the US military can do -- the good -- the US Navy in the Tsunami aid efforts. And then in Iraq (the illegal war) the destruction of Fallujah.
We can support the Tsunami efforts but NOT what is being done in Fallujah in our name and with our money.
