Robert Duvall is a republican?
I usually take these things with a grain of salt and ultimately don't care beyond the curiosity factor. And mostly I found the oscar predictions at Wampum humorous but sadly truthful. But I didn't know that Duvall, Emily Proctor (CSI), and/or Kurt Russell were republicans. Maybe they're not.

"Prediction #1

Some blogger will write that Republicans and conservatives have no voice in Hollywood. That post will not mention Fred Thompson, Clint Eastwood, Robert Duvall, Fred Gandy, Sonny Bono, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Shirley Temple Black, India Allen, Bo Derek, Robert Conrad, Tom Selleck, Ben Stein, Ron Silver, Mickey Rooney, Emily Proctor, Charlton Heston, Bob Gale, Kurt Russell, Rick Shroder, Rip Torn, James Belushi, Scott Baio, Pat Boone, Ernest Borgnine, Kelsey Grammer, Heather Locklear, or Bruce Willis, Mel Gibson, Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, or many, many others."

3. Oh, I don't at all......
It's just a blog and the person in question lists a bunch of hollywood types who are conservative in the context of a larger point. And the others I all knew about, but those 3 surprised me. Like I said, no big deal to me. He's still a great actor.

5. well that`s a real "a list"of actors
cross off clint -after the right wing attacked his last film he realized something is wrong in this country. duvall i can see as a republican but it doesn`t matter to me because he is one of the finest actors in the late 1900`s and should continue in this century.

7. Hey, they forgot James Woods!
Woods is a RWer, and he tels this great tale of how he alerted the FBI to a bunch of "well-dressed Arabian-types" on a flight he was on just prior to the WTC/Pentagon attacks.

14. Someone said
Kurt Russel is more of a libertarian. Duval is a good actor regardless.

As for the rest, well, they really are irrelevant. Who's seen Mickey Rooney make a decent film in years?

16. why didn't they perform or appear at the asshole's inaugeration ?
and convention ?

while some of them are Republicans for sure including Duvall.

why didn't Jessica Simpson perform at any of the inaugeration balls this year ? especially that youth one which had a hard time finding talent. Jessica Simpson would have been a bigger catch this year than when she performed 4 years ago because her rise in star power. and could have made up for lack of good performers.

that's why i think some of these lists are suspect, especially that jersey gop site with the "gop babes" which includes some famous people. they wrongly included Ashley Judd on the list and ended up taking her off when it was shown she was a liberal.

in any case Duvall isn't the Toby Keith type republican so i usually don't care.

Heather Locklear and Kurt Russell are both married to Kerry supporters and they themselves never showed any support for Bush. i'm thinking some of these lists are dated or they assume someone is a republican based on some past support for someone.

but they can't be compared to people like Martin Sheen, Rob Reiner,Robert Redford, etc who we know for sure are democratic/liberal from what they have done for years and continue to do.

18. When I heard him on Howard Stern,
I got the impression he was anti-neocon.

I wouldn't be surprised if he voted Kerry.

19. Duvall is a fundie
I've seen him on with Pat Robertson. I think Kurt Russell and Clint Eastwood are LP. Jim Belushi is a Dem.
