77th Oscars = High School Talent Show |

Wow. Talk about low-rent production. Bumped cameras. Sound mis-queues. Chris Rock looking dumbfounded every time they cut to him from commercial. Things falling and going "bang." Huge amounts of background noise during Yo Yo Ma's solo.
And what's up with that set? It looked like an Oscar telecast from the 70s. I swear, I half expected David Niven to get up there with a streaker!
All-in-all, it was amateur night at the Academy Awards. Disappointing, to say the least. Except for Salma and the Twins.

I couldn't help but notice all the gaffes with the sound backstage. Damn Teamsters can't keep quiet if ya pay em a million bucks . Seriously though, this one isn't going to win the Emmy next year.
Shit camera work as well. People were constantly out of frame.
Oh, should I mention the fucking ludicrous sets the built for the musical numbers. The Motorcycle Diaries number was a prime example of shit. The set looked like a cheap WWII scale modelers paradise and WTF was up with the motorcycle just out of shot? As if we didn't know the title and had to be reminded by a cheap prop.
I'm not even going to start on the horrific Phantom set and bizarre appearance of the "Phantom" for about 5 seconds.
I did love the projections and the multiple screens. Amazing.

2. Ha! I thought the Banderas set looked like a diorama, too! |

All it was missing was the Jeep! Terrible!
