1. The thing I like about the show is... |

...unlike other "makeover" shows, they do a job building on what the "victim" already has and give him something thta he will be able to maintain on his own with little effort and change in his style and life.

No, it makes you a good judge of character. They do seem very nice. My wife and I absolutely love the show and have seen most episodes at least three times.
There is another term associated with people who live the trendy lifestyle of good fashion, gourmet dining and upscale social life - Metrosexual.

3. I've heard that they are honestly decent folks. |

Can't remember where though. My roomie says it's too bad that we don't live in NYC. She'd love to turn them loose on me.

Not all of the nice things going to the "victims" have been paid for by sponsorship money. These guys have definitely been using their rolodexes and personal contacts to help these people out. Until recently they were only getting something like $3K/episode.
For instance, while I'm not sure, I think the episode where the art critic showed up to review the art gallery opening was due to a personal connection.

two answers...
yes! ;-)
and, no, you are a faghag!
(i can say that 'cause i'm a fag. :o and most of my best friends in life have been women who enjoyed the company of us gay guys.)
but seriously, they do seem to be really nice guys who are actually concerned about helping their style-challenged straight boys out.
even though they are very much the stereotype, they do seem to become friends with their "clients". i think this type of interaction between gays and straights is what will help us in the future. it is all about one on one conversion. people who have a family member that is gay, or know someone that is gay, seem to be a lot more supportive.
if this show helps in any way, it is well worth it.

It seems like they really care. Of course it could all be just an act but they pull it off very well.

My husband and I love that show. I hope it eventually takes off. I recently read that NBC needs some shows that will be hits. They have already shown a few episodes, they need to think about adding it to their permanent schedule.
