TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneer safety Dwight Smith was arrested Tuesday morning for pulling out a BB gun on two fans at a McDonald's drive through.
Hillsborough County Sheriff's officials say 26-year-old Smith was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Officials say two fans walked up to Smith's car and tried talking to him. That's when Smith pulled out a pellet gun, but didn't shoot it. Smith's friend, David Roston, then punched one of the fans.
Roston was charged with battery. Smith was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail on a bond of $2,000.
Almost two years ago, Smith was charged in Clearwater with aggravated assault after allegedly pointing a gun at another driver in a road rage incident.
Smith has played for four years with the Bucs. He became a free-agent after this season.
