Linton Kwesi Johnson, Public Enemy, Digable Planets, KRS-One, Run DMC, mostly the old school political folks, but I also like Missy Elliot, she has grown on me to some extent. Dizzie Rascal is kind of interesting. I work with a lot of African- American youth and they always tell me about different rappers. I dislike the gangsta stuff, though, too sexist and violent IMO.

but I try to keep an open mind.
